Russia to Station New Hypersonic Missile System in Belarus. Belarus requested to host the new missile systems, Russia agreed. On Friday it was announced that Russia will station some of its new Oreshnik hypersonic missiles in Belarus, the country to the northwest of Ukraine. This system may be what Russian Federation Council chairwoman Valentina Matvienko recently referred to as a ‘super weapon‘. The announcement came following the signing of security agreements between the two nations by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Minsk, Belarus on Friday.

Canada Bans More Guns, Suggests Sending Them to Ukraine. Canadian Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc announced on Thursday that 324 more “assault-style firearms” have been added to Canada’s list of banned guns. Defense Minister Bill Blair suggested the legally purchased but now-banned weapons could be confiscated and shipped to Ukraine for use against Russian invaders. The guns added to the ban list are all semi-automatic weapons with “sustained rapid-fire capability.” Owners will be required to surrender them before the end of an amnesty window on October 30, 2025.
